As I been stating, the 3rd ave BID will begin costs at $900 per year per owner!!!! That’s another $83 a month to start!!!
Remember i have a lot of experience with BIDS and they always increase in cost. The NY BID is now over $3000 per year!
We all must have begun receiving the letter from the FAILED 3rd ave merchant association informing us of the PRIVILEGE to pay them.
Turn over the page and review the planner of this theft! The SAME people that failed us for years at the Merchant association! These same failures want a guaranteed $600,000 a year to start from us.
Lets review the EXPENSIVE services they say we need:
- Community marketing? – We all do social media for free – has anyone “seen” 5th aver and their pathetic form of useless marketing?
- Digital resources for businesses? What? can they be more vague how they will PISS our hard earned money away
- Sanitation – really? 5th ave STILL get sanitation tickets and is as filthy as ever – we need someone cleaning what? I watch a cadre of people sweeping the sidewalks – i think they do their community service for FREE! and we have to pay more for?????
- Streetscaping? Nice large multi syllable word for – lights and banners? really?
- Political advocacy? Seriously? Any one of us can walk into our councilman’s and senators office and air our complaints. Has that stopped the dangerous bike lanes? remember we advised against them but the city did it anyway. Will that stop the drugs and pot smoking ravaging our neighborhood? Will that stop the homeless form defecating and living in our streets?
